Below you’ll see how the first Akaija’s were made by Wim Roskam. Nowadays some things have changed, but all-in-all it gives a good idea.
When making a new master-Akaija for reproducing/casting or when making an ordered golden Akaija from scrap-gold, then this is roughly proces of making such an Akaija.
Meanwhile the silver Akaija’s are cast and finished in India at the company RiyoGems. In India craftsmen working on jewellery are called ‘karigars’. As you see they sit on the ground, and are very grounded this way. Below you’ll see a couple of pictures from these karigars. Kapil Sharma is their boss.
